Comics are for reading… and for free!

Tomorrow - May 3, 2008 - is the sixth annual Free Comic Book Day!  If you come to the library, you can score some free comics.  I’ll have a table set up at the front of the library (just inside), and a few brave volunteers and I will be handing out comic books.  There’s something for every age, so hopefully you’ll see something that you like!  Our freebies include: Transformers, X-Men, The Simpsons, Neotopia, Iron Man, Owly and Friends (awwwww), Shonen Jump, and Maximum Ride, to name a few.

And as if giving free comics away wasn’t enough, Greg Hatcher, local artist and teacher, will be here to teach a workshop on drawing comics.  The workshop is from 12:00pm - 1:30pm.  We will have paper and pencils (with erasers, even), so you can come as you are.  The workshop is for teens, ages 12-19.
